PUBG: Battlegrounds recently celebrated its fifth anniversary. Transitioning to a free-to-play business model in January 2022, the game has seen steady uptake with more than 80,000 new users per day. Accordingly, average revenue per user across all platforms increased by more than 20 percent. International markets (excluding South Korea) accounted for 94 percent of gaming revenue in the second quarter of 2022.
PUBG: Battlegrounds is currently in second place in global mobile game sales, according to the company. Krafton then increased revenue from its mobile business to $550.7 million. The company released the new version of the game, PUBG: New State, in November last year.
