Epson printers save up to 83 percent energy

Epson is shaping the future with its technologies that will help its customers reach a sustainable future through investments made with a sustainable future philosophy. With its office-style inkjet printers, it not only provides a serious cost advantage for companies, but also enables them to take a big step towards their sustainability goals.

Epson Turkey corporate sales manager Ahmet Alpago says inkjet printers with “heatless technology” reduce costs for consumers while protecting the environment. Epson inkjet printers with Heat-Free technology are increasingly preferred by both home users, offices and small and medium-sized businesses. Epson has been supporting the transition from laser printing to business inkjet printers for several years to support improved business ecology and economies.

Reduce energy consumption by 83% with Epson

In terms of cost per page, commercial inkjet printers offer up to 50 percent lower cost per page than similarly priced laser printers on the market. In other words, Epson inkjet printers work with genuine Epson ink bottles, which can cut the cost of consumables in half.

Ahmet Alpago states that these savings will be significant for an organization that prints thousands of pages per week. As Epson’s heatless technology requires less energy, it also offers a solution to the recently rising energy bills. Epson printers with this technology provide energy savings of 83 percent.

Save up to more than 800 thousand trees!

When it comes to sustainability, enterprise inkjet printers use less energy and produce less carbon dioxide than comparable laser printers because inkjet printhead technology requires less heat than laser technology.

In addition, the ink nozzles do not emit toner dust, which means cleaner air and the environment. Epson reduced energy consumption by approximately 50.9 million kWh in 2020 with business inkjet printers. In this way, it prevents the emission of 17.7 thousand tons of carbon dioxide, as much as 816,000 trees would remove annually. Epson delivers energy savings of €5.9 million per year in the EMEA region with its heatless technology.

What is the difference between Heatless Technology?

Thermal inkjet technology applies an electric current to heat the ink to eject it from the print head. Unlike thermal inkjet and laser printers, Epson Heatless Technology does not require heating for inkjet printers. Instead, pressure is applied to the piezo element, which bends back and forth to remove the ink from the print head.

Thanks to Epson’s Heat-Free technology, the printer does not need heat to prepare for use when it is switched on or woken up. This means that this technology starts printing immediately, unlike laser printers, which need to pre-heat the fuser for printing. Consistent high-speed printing is guaranteed, even on high-density documents.

Fewer parts mean fewer problems.

Epson inkjet printers make a significant difference to laser printers in terms of lower rejection rates, low cost per page and sustainability benefits. In terms of fewer moving parts, ink-based printer technology involves only a few key components; ink, print head and compressed air dryer. These purely mechanical parts mean less breakdowns, lower service costs and lower maintenance costs.

Why a tank printer?

As technology advances, inkjet printers have become more cost-effective than laser printers. EcoTank printers developed by Epson offer a reliable printing solution with a Micro Piezo print head. Only Epson’s Micro Piezo technology allows ink droplets to be ejected from each nozzle 40,000 times per second so that documents can be printed at high speed. This produces incredibly precise results, so you can get crisp prints without sacrificing quality.

Epson will not use underground resources by 2050

Although Epson’s operations have expanded globally, its culture of respect for the environment remains unchanged. Epson established Environmental Vision 2050 in 2008. Accordingly, Epson plans to spend and invest ¥100 billion in decarbonization, resource recycling, and environmental technology development over the next 10 years.

These efforts are expected to reduce greenhouse gas emissions in the company’s supply chain by more than 2 million tons. In addition, Epson has decided to meet the electricity needs of all its group facilities worldwide from 100 percent renewable energy sources (renewable electricity) by 2023. In 2050, it will be completely carbon negative and will not use any underground resources.
